About

The story of how the smallest guy in the group, changed the way he looked by doing the right things on a constant basis.

My Story

I was always smaller and weaker than my competition, despite having natural talent. I began swimming at 5, and my teacher quickly saw potential, entering me in a gala where I won 4 firsts and 2 seconds. This marked the start of my athletic career, excelling in sprinting and cricket, even though I was the smallest. I focused on technique and mental toughness.

When I hit puberty in grade 10, I gained muscle and strength, which improved my swimming. Previously a breaststroker, I started winning freestyle and individual medley events, earning the Victor Ludorum twice, competing against national-level swimmers.

Ending of my swimming career

I was hitting personal bests regularly, training daily in the pool or weight room—chlorine practically became part of me. I loved the competition, which pushed me to improve and aim for my dream of representing America at the Olympics.

However, when my coach left, I had to find a new club. Competing with the top swimmers there was a learning experience, but I couldn’t connect with my new coach’s style. Despite his success with others, my passion for competing faded, and I eventually left the club to train on my own at the gym.

My battle with mental health

What I’m about to share might resonate with athletes who were once at the top of their game but found themselves straying from their perceived purpose. I enrolled in BAcc at Stellenbosch University but struggled with imposter syndrome and didn’t enjoy the course. Living away from home for the first time also added to the challenge.

Eventually, I had to write supplementary exams, leading to stress, depression and dropping out of university. It was the toughest time in my life, leaving me feeling purposeless and searching for a new path.

My New Mission

I have now gained a new found interest in digital marketing and building a large personal brand. I am currently now working on making this a reality. I have always loved fitness and helping people out.

That is why my new dream is to educate people on how to achieve their fitness goals. Building this audience and digital presence is also practicing the digital marketing skills I am currently acquiring, so it is a win, win situation.
